Heather Goscinski

Entering her junior year as an Art Education major, everything had been going Heather Goscinski’s way: she had passed the rigorous process of an art portfolio review, been accepted into CCSU teaching program, and achieved 6 consecutive semesters on the Dean’s List.

However, all was not well.  Despite her successes, Heather discovered that she would be six credits short of graduation.  She would have to take summer courses if she wanted to graduate on time.

Even worse, these summer courses are not included in a student’s regular tuition; “These two courses will be an extra expense,” Heather said.

Fortunately for Heather, she had some help.  For the past 4 years, Heather received the Jack and Vivian Hanson Scholarship.  By taking advantage of CCF’s renewable awards, Heather was able to deal with her unexpected situation.

Now a senior set to graduate on time, Heather plans to go on and earn her Master’s.
