The Greater Waterbury YMCA was filled with the sounds of more children after the Y added two new preschool classrooms.
A grant from the Connecticut Community Foundation and additional dollars from our partner funders helped make the expansion possible.
It was Connecticut Community Foundation's efforts connecting the Y to major funding sources and technical assistance through the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) that made the difference. As a result, the Y received a $3.2 million subsidized loan to renovate and expand its preschool.
Today, 60 children fill these new classrooms, playing, learning, and heading into a bright future.
