Policy for Protecting Personal Information
Connecticut Community Foundation’s (CCF) policy is to protect and safeguard the confidential nature of personal, non-public information that it may obtain concerning its employees, volunteers, donors, vendors, and other individuals. This information includes social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers and any other personal information.
CCF will strictly limit access to personal information. It will only disclose personal information on a strict business need-to-know basis and to the extent required or permitted by law. Although security cannot be guaranteed, CCF will maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to minimize the risk of unauthorized access or disclosure of such information.
CCF will store personal information ensuring secure and limited access. CCF will destroy, erase, shred, or make unreadable its business records that contain personal information prior to disposing such information. CCF may dispose of personal information by contracting with a reputable firm engaged in the business of disposing records that contain confidential information.
Employees are prohibited from accessing, using, disclosing, or revealing personal information for unauthorized purposes. Employees may only acquire and use personal information for legitimate business purposes and will safeguard the privacy of the information and take reasonable measures to ensure that personal information is protected from disclosure and misappropriation.
Consistent with these policies, CCF may impose disciplinary measures for actions not in compliance with policy. All complaints or allegations of violations of this policy will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken.

Your mailing and email addresses will only be used within the Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF). We do not sell or rent email or mailing addresses to anyone outside of the organization.
