Connecticut Community Foundation Awards More Than $602K in Scholarships


WATERBURY – June 29, 2011 – The Connecticut Community Foundation recently awarded more than $602,000 in scholarships to students from Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills for the 2011-2012 school year. The Foundation presented close to 300 awards from scholarship funds established by area donors.

The region’s largest scholarship provider, CCF has awarded scholarships to students from 21 area towns since 1989. First-time applicants must be entering their first year of college and live in Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, or Woodbury.

Scholarship applications for the 2012 school year will be available from CCF beginning in January. Students can obtain applications from their high school guidance departments or online at www.conncf.org/guidelines-applications. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2012.
