Applications for Community College Scholarships
Due July 15
WATERBURY — June 15, 2011 – Students of any age who are entering Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) for the first time this fall are invited to apply for the Community College Scholarship Program. Offered by the Connecticut Community Foundation in Waterbury, the deadline to apply is July 15, 2011.
Typical awards range from $250 to $500 per semester for a maximum of four consecutive semesters. Students may use scholarships towards tuition, books, fees or supplies. Awards will be announced in August.
To be eligible, first-time applicants must be a United States citizen and live in the Foundation’s 21-town service area including Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, or Woodbury.
Scholarships are available to full-time and part-time students. Students who receive other scholarship funds from the Connecticut Community Foundation are not eligible to apply for this program.

Connecticut Community Foundation, the region’s largest scholarship provider, started the Community College Scholarship Program in 2009 to better meet the needs of area students. Last year, students received Community College Scholarship awards that totaled approximately $20,000.
