CCF Awards More Than $275,000
in Grants to Area Nonprofits
WATERBURY, CT — January 13, 2011 — CCF recently awarded its second and final round of grants for 2010 to a wide range of area nonprofit organizations. The grants for new and continuing programs, as well as sponsorships for public events, totaled more than $275,000.
Highlights in this round include funding for ambitious neighborhood revitalization efforts, a range of Basic Needs supports, numerous cultural/educational programs, and technology and planning support to build the capacity of local organizations.
The Foundation also awarded more than $8,500 in sponsorships to area nonprofits for arts, cultural, and environmental programs and events that are open to the public. Organizations supported include Connecticut Choral Society, Oxford Public Library, Pratt Nature Center, Silas Bronson Library, Southbury Historical Society, Southbury Land Trust, Thomaston High School, and Waterbury Hospital Health Center.
