| There are many ways to give that benefit the environment...or any other interest of your choice. |
In addition to accepting current gifts, the Connecticut
Community Foundation offers several different ways to give.
for those who are interested in retaining income from their
gift over the course of their lives.
Current Gift
By giving during your lifetime, you can see the good work your gift makes possible. Once your fund is established, you can add to it whenever you like.
Bequest
By leaving a bequest in your will, you can support your
community in perpetuity while reducing estate
taxes. Your bequest can be for specific amount, a percentage
of your estate or a residuary amount. You can also name the Foundation as a contingent beneficiary. Please tell us about your plans to leave your legacy through the Foundation, and we will invite you to join The 1923 Society, which honors our legacy givers.
Life Income Gifts
With life income gifts, you can transfer assets to the Foundation and receive income for life.
Pooled Income Fund and
Charitable Gift Annuity
With a pooled income fund or charitable
gift annuities, you can make a charitable
contribution of $50,000 or more now, receive a current tax deduction,
and retain a life income for yourself or your spouse. The remainder,
after the death of the income beneficiary, establishes your charitable
fund at the Foundation.
Charitable Remainder
Trust
The beneficiaries you choose receive income for life. After the
death of the income beneficiaries, the remainder is distributed to one
or more nonprofit organizations. This vehicle is appropriate
for assets of $200,000 or more.
Charitable Lead Trusts
Consider a lead trust to shelter future appreciation of your significant assets from estate
taxes. The Foundation receives the income during the life of
the trust. The assets revert to the beneficiaries at the end
of the trust at a significantly reduced gift and estate tax.
This vehicle is appropriate for of $200,000 or more.
