Getting Started

Kyungsook Petrahai gives to several organizations through a donor advised fund she established at the Foundation.

When you choose to invest in the future of our community, you want to work with someone who knows the territory. The Connecticut Community Foundation has been helping people give back to their communities for 85 years through a variety of charitable giving options.

The Connecticut Community Foundation offers:

Flexibility
Follow our easy steps to creating a fund.
Several types of funds are available to meet the philanthropic interests of every donor.

Many Options for Giving
Connecticut Community Foundation staff can assist in determining the most advantageous ways to give and the best assets to use for your financial planning needs.

Permanence
With the exception of nonpermanent advised funds, most funds at the Connecticut Community Foundation are permanent endowments. When you donate to a permanent endowment fund, the principal of the gift is never spent. It is carefully invested, and the earnings are used annually to address specific local causes and issues.

Grantmaking Expertise
The Foundation continually assesses changing needs in the community so your gift will go where it is needed most. Our professional staff is available to assist donors with their community giving.

Maximum Tax Deduction
Donations to the Connecticut Community Foundation, a public charity, receive the maximum tax benefit allowable by law.

Professional Investment Management
The Foundation has managed donor funds for over 80 years. Funds are charged low fees for administration and professional investment management.
