Working in our communities to develop early childhood blueprints
Thanks to the Connecticut Community Foundation’s community leadership efforts, Naugatuck and Waterbury have developed early childhood blueprints with measurable results, key strategies and specific action steps aimed at improving kindergarten readiness and increasing the number of children reading on grade level by age 8.
Local teams use a comprehensive approach including
• identifying specific needs
• researching best practices
• mapping current programs
• coordinating funding sources
• securing broad input from parents, teachers and social service agencies
