Anonymous Donors
Two anonymous donors who believe that the best teachers make the best preschools formed a unique partnership with the Connecticut Community Foundation in 2007.
Having gained knowledge and expertise on early childhood education through the Foundation’s LitLinks Initiative, Connecticut Community Foundation staff was able to work with the donors in developing a program to help preschools keep their most qualified teachers from leaving for better-paying jobs.
A grant from their donor-advised fund made it possible for six schools to give increased compensation and continuing education to their most valuable teachers, including Donna O’Brien of the YMCA of Greater Waterbury.
